Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn was born in 1973. In 1995, he received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Mahidol University. In the same year, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mahidol University as a faculty, and won a full scholarship from the Royal Thai Government to continue his advanced degrees in USA. He received his Master degree in Automatic Controls from the Michigan Technological University, and Ph.D. in Robotics from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, in 1998 and 2003, respectively. During his study, he had been working with GE Medical Systems Company from 2001 to 2002, where he had gained research experience in biomedical engineering, Presently he has resumed his faculty position at the Mahidol University, where he is now the Director of the Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (BART LAB), Department Chair and Assistant Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He is also recently elected to be the President of the Thai Robotics Society (www.trs.or.th). His interest includes Robot-Assisted Surgery., Surgical Navigations, Self-Replicating Robots, Binary Hyper-Redundant Robotic Manipulators and MEMS.
